Frey represents employers in all types of labor and employment litigation, including single plaintiff cases, class actions and representative matters. She is a passionate and proactive litigator who is particularly skilled at dispositive motion work and enjoys finding creative ways to eliminate claims early in litigation. She is equally prepared to go to trial when necessary, employing unique and effective strategies to obtain favorable judgments. Frey has extensive experience representing medical groups, hospitals, and physicians, and is well versed in the unique legal challenges facing healthcare employers. Frey’s clients also include retail institutions, universities, life science and biotech companies, and technology companies at various stages of growth.

A fierce advocate, Frey’s pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach also makes her a trusted advisor to her clients. She routinely helps HR professionals and managers navigate issues related to employee hiring, management, leaves of absence and disability accommodations, complaints and investigations, terminations, and layoffs. She also enjoys partnering with employers to craft legally compliant policies, procedures, and communications that protect and advance their business interests. Frey also conducts trainings in harassment and bullying prevention, gender equality issues, effective employee management, and other employment law topics.

Frey began her career as an associate in the Los Angeles office of Reed Smith, where she represented pharmaceutical companies, corporations, and financial institutions in complex commercial litigation and products liability matters. Prior to starting the firm, Frey was a senior associate at a San Diego labor and employment defense firm, where she represented many of Southern California’s most prominent employers.

Frey is passionate about giving back to the legal community, and devotes significant time to mentoring college students, aspiring lawyers and junior attorneys. Frey is also actively engaged in various diversity initiatives within in the San Diego legal community.
