John Monts represents California employers in all areas of labor and employment litigation, advocating on behalf of employers in harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage and hour claims. Prior to joining the firm, John worked as an associate attorney for a San Diego-based firm, where he represented both plaintiffs and defendants in a broad array of litigation and transactional matters. John began his legal career as a corporate transactional attorney in the San Diego office of an AmLaw 100 firm, representing both public and private companies in venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, and regulatory matters.

While in law school, John worked as a research assistant, focusing on the history of securities and tax law. He also worked for the Orange County Public Defender, where he assisted in providing criminal defense for indigent clients accused of felonies.

John is admitted to practice before all California state courts and the federal district courts in the Southern and Central Districts of California.
